DX

DX, the largest independent logistics network operator in the UK, has selected Teenage Cancer Trust as its Charity of the Year and has been raising money in various ways since January 2011.

DX raised over £55,000 during its first year of partnership through employee fundraising in its offices and service centres all over the UK. Now entering its second year of fundraising, everyone in DX is keen to match their fantastic efforts of 2011.

Thank you so much to all DX employees for your ongoing support. We look forward to working with you in the year ahead!

DX Charity Rugby Match

This September DX have organised a charity rugby match on Saturday 22 September with all profits going to Teenage Cancer Trust.

If you are in the area on Saturday make sure you check out the game at 3pm at Alcester RFC, with Alcester RFC vs DX Lions. Tickets will be available on the door for £3 and all profits will be donated to Teenage Cancer Trust. The DX team also have Frank Packman playing, former England and Northampton Saints player so go on down and show your support!

Speaking ahead of the event, Frank said: “Like many people, my family has been affected by cancer recently. My father was diagnosed with throat cancer earlier this year, but we all feel that given that he is nearly 80 he has at least had a good innings. I have two teenagers myself and I cannot imagine how hard it must be for someone so young to have so much to deal with. This is why I’m so pleased to part of this event, raising money for such a worthy cause.”

  • When: Saturday 22 September, 3pm
  • Where: Alcester Rugby Football Club
  • Who: Alcester RFC vs DX Lions featuring Frank Packman
  • Tickets: Available on the door for £3

Spring 2012

Along with previously having raised funds by wearing their team colours and organised cake sales, DX Service Centre in Newcastle organised a Pier to Pier sponsored walk in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Over 30 people including staff members, family and friends gathered together to complete the seven mile walk from South Shields to Roker Pier. Luckily the sun was shining for our walkers and the event raised over £1,500. Well done to all!

Petar Cvetkovic, CEO of DX, comments:

“Teenage Cancer Trust provides outstanding facilities and care for young people with cancer and gives them the very best chance of recovering from the disease. As a company, we are delighted to be supporting such a deserving charity and we wish Teenage Cancer Trust every success for the future.”

Jim Ross takes to the hills!

2011 saw Jim Ross and his team take to the hills when they climbed Snowdon in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. Jim decided to push himself once again when he participated in (and won!) the Gymnasium Iron Man Challenge – a gruelling task of 5,000m on the Rowing Machine, 10,000m on the bike, followed by a 5km run and 500m swim! A huge thanks goes to Jim and his fellow fundraisers who raised a fantastic £2,250 for Teenage Cancer Trust. Good luck to everyone at DX who will be joining Jim this year in completing the 3 Peaks Challenge in under 20 hours!

DX smash their £25,000 fundraising target!

Since the partnership began in late 2010, DX have already exceeded their £25,000 fundraising target for Teenage Cancer Trust!

Numerous fundraising events have taken place in offices and service centres across the country including raffles, treasure hunts and dress down fry-days.

Many employees have bravely taken on challenges; from running marathons to climbing mountains to taking on lengthy cycle routes all in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Thank you so much to all DX employees for their ongoing support. We can’t wait to work with you in 2012!!

Summer 2011

On the 6th July 2011, eight members of DX Group’s Management Board challenged themselves to scale Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike- all within a 24 hour period!

DX’s intrepid team of Kathy Sharkey, Keith Eden, Paul Doble, Petar Cvetkovic, Ian Pain, Gareth Dore, Alex Scott and Barrie Childe walked over 25 miles, climbed over 10,000 feet and travelled a total of over 450 miles! By successfully completing this gruelling challenge within such a short period the team have raised at least £10,000 so far to date. What a fantastic achievement – many congratulations to all that took part and thank you to everyone at DX for their support.
