Staff will paddle a kayak for 2 miles each, to a total of 14 miles on Castlewellan Lake. The Asst. Manager (me!) will complete the full 14 miles. On the few days before the event there will be a cake / bun sale instore.
Description
I am an Asst. Manager for Superdrug who has teamed up with Teenage Cancer Trust to help educate young people about the signs and symptoms of cancer and raise awareness about cancer amongst teenagers and young people. Our fundraising event will take place on Sunday 1st July. A Team of 7 Staff will take to Castlewellan Lake in a kayak and paddle a total of 14 miles (2 miles each). The lake is 1 mile long which means each staff member will paddle up and back down the lake in a relay style. I will complete the full 14 miles and will donate an extra £10 if each staff member stands up and paddles the last 100 feet without falling in. Staff can also donate £5 for the chance to push me out of the kayak and into the freezing cold water. (cant promise I wont pull some of them in with me!)We are also planning on setting up a cake sale instore on the few days leading up to the main event where we can help raise awareness of Teenage Cancer Trust amongst the local community.

And thats that!!
So the Paddlethon took place yesterday and boy am I sore today! 14 miles paddled and I feel every inch of it!! We had a fantastic day and spread the word on the TCT charity. Massive thanks to all who were involved and all who donated, this wouldnt have happened without all the great help I received during the course of the fundraiser. I'll put some pics up in the next day or so and hopefully we'll bring in a few extra £££ before the page closes!
