Never before visited the breathtaking Great Wall of China? What better way to experience one of the 7 Wonders of the World than by taking part in an 8-day trek, making friends along the way and raising money for teenagers and young people fighting cancer.
The Great Wall of China was originally constructed to keep out normadic tribes who raided China's Northern frontier. It is the longest man-made structure in the world. Trekking The Great Wall is a once in a lifetime opportunity not to be missed!
Your trekking challenge starts in Jinshanling with a vigorous and challenging trek involving climbing thousands of steps that overlook the mountains either side of the Gubeikou Gateway. Each day you will trek approximately 12kms along the stony path, twisting and winding its way along the mountains, interspersed with crumbling watchtowers. While it is demanding, it is also very rewarding, particularly on a clear day when you can look at the vast and beautiful mountain ranges and see for miles. Places are very popular and past trekkers say that through the 8-day adventure, friendships are formed through a shared experience of unforgettable days spent trekking amongst some of the most spectacular views.
On completetion of your trek you will return to Beijing to explore some of the many attractions of China's capital city including the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.
