Intimate La Dispute show raises thousands!
After an intimate sell-out show at the Garage (Upstairs) in September, the final count is in...
Thanks to everybody who bought a ticket and came along to the show - by doing so you supported two amazing bands as well as Teenage Cancer Trust. All proceeds from ticket sales were donated to the charity, as well as a percentage of merchandise sales. We'd also like to thank all of the bands for taking part, especially La Dispute for supporting the charity and putting the show together.
There is never a good time to get cancer, but for a teenager the timing seems particularly cruel. Young people can get some of the most rare and aggressive forms, their rapidly changing bodies can work against them enabling the cancer to grow faster. Every day around seven young people face a cancer diagnosis and we want to make sure they all have access to the specialist units and support we provide, no matter where they live. Every penny that we receive makes a real difference.
La Dispute show sells out!
Tickets for such intimate shows never hang about and La Dispute's show for Teenage Cancer Trust was no exception.
Congratulations to the lucky fans who managed to grab tickets for the band's show Upstairs at the Garage - Thank you for helping to support us!
Be sure to tweet us your pictures from the show to @TeenageCancer
La Dispute announce exclusive benefit show
Michigan five-piece to play intimate London show to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust after their London Garage show sells out.
Michigan post-hardcore kings La Dispute have announced that an extra London date is to be added to their European co-headline tour with Title Fight this September. With only one UK date originally scheduled in London now sold-out, this extra show featuring La Dispute with support from Goodtime Boys will be a fundraiser for Teenage Cancer Trust, with all crew working for free and all profits being donated to the charity. The band chose to support Teenage Cancer Trust after visiting two units and meeting patients during their UK tour in February.
This exclusive show will be held Upstairs at the Garage on September 19th, and while La Dispute are no strangers to a smaller, intimate gig, fans should jump on this golden opportunity with haste as it's sure to sell out, plus you'll be making a beneficial contribution to a worthy cause. The band will also be performing a different set to the rest of the tour, so this show could be a very special one indeed for the die-hard fan.
Tickets available for £12 from here.
