Watch maker Hublot today handed over $620,000 to Teenage Cancer Trust in response to a rock and roll partnership they have had with the band Depeche Mode on their current world tour.
From the stage of the 55,000 seater Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf and the venue for the penultimate concert of Depeche Mode’s ‘Tour of The Universe’, Hublot CEO Jean-Claude Biver, joined the band in presenting a cheque for $620,000 to Teenage Cancer Trust CEO, Simon Davies.
In December 2009, Hublot & Depeche Mode pledged their support to Teenage Cancer Trust helping to support teenagers and young people in the UK fight cancer. Since then a series of joint activities was conducted between Hublot and Depeche Mode to generate maximum funds for the charity.
An auction conducted from 6-24 February via www.hublot.com and www.depechemode.com raised a significant amount of money for the charity and featured a box of 12 exclusive Big Bang timepieces, each one displaying one of the group’s iconic albums on the dial. Bidders had an opportunity to own one of the 12 sets available which also included the vinyl and digital version of Depeche Mode’s album, a framed gold CD and signed photos.
A charity concert was also hosted by the group at the Royal Albert Hall in London on 17 February and sold out within 40 minutes of going on sale. Thousands of fans witnessed a great moment of their world tour and the concert was followed by a VIP reception, where guests contributed generously to buy raffle tickets and the chance to win a Hublot King Power Zirconium.
