In response to this decision, Dr Louise Soanes, Chief Nurse, Teenage Cancer Trust, said:

“Many young people with cancer continue to feel anxious about the world around them and so today’s decision to offer a Covid-19 booster vaccine to specific groups of people, including some young people with cancer and eligible adults in their household, will provide reassurance and relief.

“If young people have any questions about what today’s announcement means for them, they should speak to a member of their clinical team. In the meantime, the eligible yet unvaccinated can play their part and protect the vulnerable further by taking up the offer of an immunisation.”
