Morgan Stanley have today announced that Teenage Cancer Trust will be their new charity partner, and we couldn't be more excited!
After a week-long poll, where Morgan Stanley employees got to meet our team and hear directly from people we've supported, we were voted as the organisation's charity partner for the next two years.
During the partnership, Morgan Stanley employees will aim to raise £500,000, which will be matched by the Morgan Stanley International Foundation to raise at least £1 million.
This vital support will help us create a new specialist unit in London. The money will also help fund a new team of specialist nurses across London and the South East to provide expert care to young people with cancer in hospital and at home.
"Giving back to our local communities has long been a core value of Morgan Stanley and its employees, so we are delighted to be partnering with Teenage Cancer Trust," said Clare Woodman, Head of Morgan Stanley EMEA.
By creating a new, pioneering hospital ward in London complete with a team of expert nurses we hope to ensure young people facing cancer have access to revolutionary cancer treatment and the support they deserve.
In addition to our exciting charity partnership, Teenage Cancer Trust staff will also take part in the Morgan Stanley UK Strategy Challenge, which pairs teams of top-performing Morgan Stanley professionals with non-profit organisations in London for 8 weeks to provide pro bono strategic advice.
The Morgan Stanley team advising Teenage Cancer Trust will develop an ambitious strategy around the most effective way to expand our nursing and support service and ensure more young people diagnosed with cancer around the UK have access to the support they need.
Kate Collins, our Chief Executive, said, "Words cannot describe how thrilled we are to have been chosen as Morgan Stanley's new charity partner. It means the absolute world to all of us at Teenage Cancer Trust."
Our partnership will ensure 100% of young people facing cancer across London and the South East can access the bespoke, specialist care and support they desperately need. What an amazing legacy.
