My role
I’ve been a qualified nurse working in cancer services for over 10 years and am now based at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. My role is to ensure that all young people across Merseyside and Cheshire have equal opportunities for access to the best possible, age appropriate cancer care.
The part of my role that I enjoy the most is the continual opportunity to gain knowledge and learn new ideas in practice that really make a difference to young people’s experiences.
Why Teenage Cancer Trust matters
The support provided by Teenage Cancer Trust is essential to meeting the needs of young people on their cancer journey. They provide funding for several staff roles in this region as well as 2 specialist units and many peer support activities and events. They also support educational opportunities to ensure staff are knowledgeable and dynamic in their care of young people with cancer.
