Our fantastic honorary patron, Roger Daltrey, kicked off six weeks of festive cheer in Marlyebone Village when he switched on the lights for 'A Merry Marylebone Christmas' on Wednesday 14 November.

Organised by The Howard de Walden Estate, this year's lights switch-on supported Teenage Cancer Trust. Volunteers were there throughout the night to raise vital funds and spread awareness among the crowds gathered to see Roger and the lights.

"The Howard de Walden Estate are thrilled and honoured that Roger Daltrey CBE kick-started Christmas in Marlyebone Village," said Jenny Hancock, Community and Marketing Director at The Howard de Walden Estate, "and we hope that the event has raised some great donations for Teenage Cancer Trust."

"For many years, Marlyebone village has been my stomping ground," said Roger.

It is indeed an honour to have the chance to kick-start Christmas in Marlyebone, and even better that tonight's festivities are supporting a cause close to my heart.

"Half of 13-24 year olds diagnosed with cancer still don't get specialist care designed for young people and we are working hard to change this but there's still a huge amount to do!" Roger added. "Vital support like this will help us move closer to a time when every young person who wants Teenage Cancer Trust support is able to get it."
