It's rare at a seated concert not to see anyone actually sitting down but there was definitely way too much dancing to be done last night! We're getting ahead of ourselves though, so more on Simply Red's set later...

Backstage, earlier in the evening, tonight's support Ben Montague took some time out to meet the young people from our units in Manchester, Leeds and Hull. As a child, Ben's first gig was at the Royal Albert Hall so it was an even more special evening for him. Ben and his band took to the stage and certainly earned themselves loads of new fans after an amazing performance that really got everyone going and excited for the rest of the evening.

Then it was time for the evening's headliners... Simply Red.

Mick Hucknall took a minute before things got going to talk about how precious life is, especially poignant as not long before they came on stage it had been announced that the legendary Prince had died. This didn't hold the band back though as they chose to use this to celebrate how important it is to cherish every moment and how the audiences' support was so vital for the young people who'd just been on stage.

It wasn't long before every seat was empty and the aisles were full as we joined Mick and the band singing along to hits such as "Holding Back The Years", "Stars" and "Something Got Me Started". It's always incredible seeing the Royal Albert Hall erupt like that!

Please remember that even if you're not at these shows this week you can still support us by texting REACH to 70500 to donate £5. Full terms can be seen at

It's Friday and that means one thing, tonight we're welcoming Bring Me The Horizon and PVRIS!
