I’ve been involved with Teenage Cancer Trust for a number of years now and I helped launch the East of Scotland appeal in Edinburgh, so I’m really pleased to be the official East of Scotland Appeal patron. Teenage Cancer Trust has just finished building a new unit at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. Another unit is due to be built at the new Sick Children's Hospital in Edinburgh where young people with cancer can be treated in a home from home environment alongside others their own age. It’s such an important factor that allows them be themselves, creating a positive attitude to fight cancer. Every teenager in the area who needs access to one of these units should have that right. We have a long way to go to raise the money needed, but together we can make this a reality.
