The singer and his team will be taking on the 4-day challenge, which they have named 'Cycle the Circle of Life', setting off from Customs House, in South Shields, cycling 250 miles on the Sustrans pathways and returning to the venue, where Joe once worked as a dish washer, on 17 July.

Supporters can come to Customs House at 4pm on 17 July to welcome Joe and the team at the end of their 4-day journey.

It's always been important to me to give something back, and over the years I've seen first-hand the work that Teenage Cancer Trust do in the North East. It's a great feeling to be taking on another challenge and I want to raise as much money as I can to help this important cause.

The team are hoping that the route they have chosen will be forever dubbed the 'Circle of Life' after their challenge.

Joe, who is currently playing the title role in the UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, has taken on 2 cycle challenges for Teenage Cancer Trust in the past. In 2013, he cycled from coast to coast, and, in 2014, he cycled from Glasgow to Edinburgh, then on to South Shields.

Joe has been an Ambassador for us in the North East for 6 years. He has taken on the Great North Run 3 times and officially opened our unit at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle in 2012.
