I live, breathe and love fundraising. I feel very privileged to have been a professional fundraiser for over 20 years, with roles at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, the British Red Cross, Sense and Plan International UK. I’m passionate about the charity sector and proud to be a Trustee and Fellow of the Institute of Fundraising, currently chairing their Standards Advisory Board. In early 2019 I also joined People’s Postcode Lottery as a Trustee of their Dream Trust and Local Communities Trusts, these trusts give grants of c.£10m a year to charities large and small.
About your role
As Director of Fundraising, I work with a team of energetic and experienced fundraisers who are committed to doing all they can to ensure that we continue to grow our vital services for young people with cancer by raising much needed funds. I am also privileged to work with the many amazing companies, individuals and trusts and foundations who support Teenage Cancer Trust.
About Teenage Cancer Trust and you
I love being part of such an energetic charity with exciting plans for the future. For me nothing beats meeting our supporters, particularly young people with first-hand experience of cancer and their loved ones, who‘ve found purpose, comfort and motivation in fundraising for us during the most difficult of times. At events that we run to thank our supporters we also get the chance to hear from some of the amazing young people who have had cancer and support from the Teenage Cancer Trust. I learn something new from each of their stories.
