I’ve worked in retailing for over 30 years, having founded The Perfume Shop and then as CEO of Superdrug. More recently I’ve been CEO of the clothing business White Stuff. I’m now Chairman of the health and wellness brand Revital and advisor to a number of businesses in retailing and health & beauty, in addition to supporting an educational charity.
My role as a Trustee
It is a privilege to be a Trustee as the charity embarks on its next chapter looking after the needs of Teenagers and Young People with Cancer. My background in business has taught me that most organisations face similar challenges of growth and direction; I hope that I can constructively share my own learnings to support the leadership team at Teenage Cancer Trust.
Teenage Cancer Trust and me
Over ten years ago I was invited to attend a concert at the Royal Albert Hall and met Teenage Cancer Trust’s founders Adrian and Myrna Whiteson. Since then I’ve been a supporter, both in business and with my wife Gillian. I will always remember how the passion of a teenager inspired a room full of Superdrug Area Managers to support this charity. I’ve already signed up for a 10k run early next summer to fundraise for Teenage Cancer Trust.
