My role

Teenage Cancer Trust Nurse

My role is to develop a service for teenagers and young adults with cancer so they have the best possible outcomes and experience. I’m also here to act as an advocate for the young people – they inspire me constantly and are the reason I keep doing my job.

We don’t have a Teenage Cancer Trust unit yet but have interim age appropriate facilities across both sites that I work across, with each catering for a different age group.

Why Teenage Cancer Trust matters

Teenage Cancer Trust makes a huge difference by recognising that young people have unique needs. They’ve recognised that young people need staff looking after them who are passionate about this age group too and understand their needs. All this is vital to improve their experience and make a real difference to their lives.
