Ruth has a JNC Level 2 and BA Hons Youth & Community Work with Applied Theology.

My role is supporting young people within our service, providing opportunities and activities both whilst in hospital but also off site.

Teenage Cancer Trust provides a vital service for those young people aged 16-24, who otherwise would be either in paediatric or adult wards, by funding the development of specialised units which provide an environment and service that totally caters to the needs of teenagers and young adults. Teenage Cancer Trust provides funding for staff such as clinical nurse specialists and youth support coordinators which allows young people to feel comfortable whilst in hospital and whilst undergoing treatment. Teenage Cancer Trust also provides the opportunities like national events such as Find Your Sense of Tumour, where they can meet other young people who may be experiencing similar things to them which can help them feel less isolated and alone in their cancer journey.
