Teenage Cancer Trust and me
I wanted to support Teenage Cancer Trust in memory of Scott Williams, who died from a brain tumour when he was 14. I know his Dad Steve and all the work his family have done to date raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust after Scott was treated on their unit at Bristol Children's Hospital. Not only that but my sister’s niece passed away at 16 years old after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.
We’d originally wanted to climb Mount Kilimanjaro but, unfortunately due to personal medical reasons, I was unable to go. As an alternative I took part in the Jurassic Coast Challenge and ran the course in 4 hours 12 minutes despite getting lost for 2 miles!
It was a compromise to my dream of climbing the mountain but nevertheless it was a great experience. We raised over £15,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust through a golf day, a race night and individual sponsorship.
