From 22/09/2019 to 23/09/2019
Be inspired by some of the most dramatic scenery England has to offer on this classic bike ride from west to east. Departing from the coast of West Cumbria, this challenging itinerary stretches for 140 miles until reaching the North Sea. The picturesque route crosses the northern edge of the Lake District, then climbs into the dramatic landscapes of the northern Pennines. Following the ancient fringes of Hadrian’s Wall, it then heads down to the coastline of Whitley Bay.
You’ll need all your pedal power to tackle big ascents and descents in the Eden Valley and Northumberland National Park. The aches and pains will be long forgotten however, while the memory of this remarkable journey past former mining towns and Roman forts will endure for years to come.
I want to take part
We don’t have charity places in this event, but you can still take part and help young people with cancer.
Simply buy your place directly through the organisers, and select Teenage Cancer Trust when you choose your charity.
They’ll let us know once you’ve registered, and we’ll send you a free Teenage Cancer Trust cycling jersey along with a handy welcome pack filled with helpful fundraising ideas.
How much is it?
There are 3 different payment options for the Coast to Coast challenge.
Minimum sponsorship: You pay a £95 registration fee and then raise a minimum of £785 in sponsorship. Teenage Cancer Trust will then cover the cost of your challenge.
Flexi: You pay a £95 registration fee on booking, and a further £95, 5 weeks before your challenge. You also raise a minimum of £590 in sponsorship and Teenage Cancer Trust will help cover the cost of your challenge.
Self funder: You pay a £95 registration fee on booking, and then £390, 5 weeks before your challenge to cover the cost. You then raise what you can for Teenage Cancer Trust.

How you can help young people
£50 could buy a round of pizzas for a young person and their friends, which might just be the first thing that tempts a young person out of bed after a gruelling round of chemo.
£100 could pay for 5 hours of time from one of our Multi-Disciplinary Team Co-ordinators, so they can build links with NHS staff, find out about every young cancer patient and arrange the right support.
£230 could buy a real hair wig and salon styling from our Hair4U project – and help make the pain of hair loss a little easier to deal with.
£500 could pay for a young person to make a film to express their feelings and help family and friends understand what they’re going through.
£950 could pay for a young person to attend our post-treatment programme, The Way Forward, and deal with tough issues like fertility, jobs and money with other young people.
