From 12/06/2018 to 09/09/2018
Starting at Land’s End on the south-westerly tip of England, you’ll pedal your way through Cornwall, over Dartmoor and north along the Welsh border, skirting the Lake District into Scotland, via lochs and the Highlands to the North Coast and John O’Groats. In all you’ll cover roughly 1,000 miles, passing through some of the most stunning and remote countryside in the British Isles. This is a tough challenge but a fabulous way to see the country, and is one of the most rewarding things you'll ever do!
I want to take part
We don’t have charity places in this event, but you can still take part and help young people with cancer.
Simply buy your place directly through the organisers, and select Teenage Cancer Trust when you choose your charity.
They’ll let us know once you’ve registered, and we’ll send you a free Teenage Cancer Trust cycling jersey along with a handy welcome pack filled with helpful fundraising ideas.
How much is it?
There are 3 different payment options for the Land’s End to John O’Groats challenge.
Minimum sponsorship: You pay a £299 registration fee and then raise a minimum of £2,800 in sponsorship. Teenage Cancer Trust will then cover the cost of your challenge.
Flexi: You pay a £299 registration fee on booking, and a further £500, 8 weeks before your challenge. You also raise a minimum of £1,800 in sponsorship and Teenage Cancer Trust will help cover the cost of your challenge.
Self funder: You pay a £299 registration fee on booking, and then £1,400, 8 weeks before your challenge to cover the cost. You then raise what you can for Teenage Cancer Trust.
5 reasons to cycle with us
We could go on all day about why you should join our team, but that would be boring so we’ll keep it short. Here are our top 5 reasons:
- You’ll help young people with cancer.
- You’ll receive an exclusive Teenage Cancer Trust cycling jersey.
- You’ll have access to our incredible training zone.
- You’ll get all the fundraising help you need to reach your goal.
- You can talk to us. We’re here to support you.
How you can help young people
£500 could pay for a young person to make a film to express their feelings and help family and friends understand what they’re going through.
£950 could pay for a young person to attend our post-treatment programme, The Way Forward, and deal with tough issues like fertility, jobs and money with other young people.
£2,000 could pay for the professional education and development for one of our staff members so they can continue to provide world-leading expert care for young people with cancer.
£3,626 could pay for the cost of all our Youth Support Co-ordinators, who’ll be there for young people and help them get together and support each other, for a day.
£4,230 could pay for the cost of all our expert nurses, who specialise in the best treatment for the cancers that affect this age group, for one day.
