Long term supporters, Event Academy, have done it again, raising a staggering £17,556 at their two student-run events before Christmas.
Towards the end of their studies for their Event Management Postgraduate Diploma, the students were split into two groups, named Solace Agency and One For All Events Agency. Each team was given a small budget and tasked with staging a lavish event, to raise as much money as possible for Teenage Cancer Trust.
The students worked incredibly hard to host two glamourous evenings of entertainment in London in December. They were responsibe for organising every aspect of the events, from sourcing the venue to the catering and entertainment.
Both events were attended by Chloe Woolfe, a former patient who was treated on our unit at UCLH. Chloe is now an Ambassador for Teenage Cancer Trust, spreading the word about what we do and giving a personal perspective. She said a few words at each event, which was really well received and had a huge impact on the event attendees.
Amanda Heatherington, Regional Fundraiser, said "We are so grateful to the Event Academy, who have raised a phenomonal £84,428 for us so far. The staff, lecturers and students are so supportive and engaged, they are a pleasure to work with and I'd like to thank them for their continued support. We are now into the third year of our partnership, which really is going from strength to strength."
