Support our work

The award winning Teenage Cancer Trust unit at Birmingham Children’s Hospital was opened in Feb 2010.

Teenage Cancer Trust funds two expert staff at the unit:

  • Clinical Nurse Specialist
  • Youth Support Coordinator

They make sure the best possible care is given so that patients are treated as young people first, cancer patients second.

In 2010 design of the unit at Birmingham Children’s Hospital was recognised when architects Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands and Teenage Cancer Trust scooped the Best Interior Design award at the Building Better Health Care Awards.

In 2011 the unit at Birmingham Children’s Hospital received a highly recognized RIBA award for its design and development.
