Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity providing specialised nursing care and support for young people with cancer. We’re here for anyone diagnosed with cancer aged 13-24, and their loved ones too.
We fund specialist nurses, youth support workers and dedicated hospital units within the NHS, ensuring young people have staff who understand their needs and environments appropriate for their age throughout treatment.
We also produce a range of information and resources for young people facing cancer. And we partner with the Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Global Accord to support enhancing treatment and care worldwide.
Global Accord
In 2015, Teenage Cancer Trust, Teen Cancer America, and Canteen Australia, formed the Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Global Accord. AYAs with cancer have unique and complex medical and psychosocial needs, distinct from those of paediatric and older adult patients, and as such, require tailored, specialised AYA cancer care.
The aim of the Global Accord is to invest and support a growing multidisciplinary workforce who are committed to improving the lives of AYAs diagnosed with cancer, worldwide. A key focus of this partnership is the Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Global Congress series, hosted on a rotating basis by the partner organisations.
Global Congress 2027
The 7th Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Global Congress is coming to the UK in 2027.
This significant event brings together global leaders, researchers and those in practice to present cutting-edge research, innovations on cancer care for young people, enhancing treatment and care worldwide. Working in partnership together, the Global Congress provides health, youth work, academic and social care professionals networking opportunities and access to insights from leading international experts in this specialised field.
Health information and resources for teenagers and young adults with cancer
We provide clear, accessible information on every aspect of living with cancer as a young person.
Our resources help young people and families understand their care and make informed decisions. They also include practical guidance on mental health, nutrition, exercise, creativity and staying connected during treatment. These are available both as physical copies and online (our website, TikTok and Instagram) – all our work is co-created with teenagers and young adults with experience of cancer.
