Explore the Coast & Moors – Take on the Challenge for Young People with Cancer

From dramatic cliffs to wild moorland trails, the North Yorks Ultra Challenge is your chance to push yourself in a truly stunning part of the UK – all while raising funds for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Challenge participants set off from the start line

Starting at basecamp in Scarborough, the route loops north along the famous Cleveland Way, with unforgettable views over the coastline, through Robin Hood’s Bay, and on to historic Whitby – the halfway point for the 50km challengers. For the full 100km route, it’s across the beautiful Esk Valley, through classic moorland landscapes, before the final stretch back to Scarborough.

You can walk, jog, or run – solo or as part of a team – and choose from 100km, 50km, 25km, or a 10-mile challenge. However you take it on, your efforts will help ensure no young person faces cancer alone.

With full support along the way – including food & drink, rest stops, medical teams, optional camping & transfers, a finisher’s medal, T-shirt, and a celebration at the end – this is an unforgettable challenge for an incredible cause.

Make 2026 the year you go further. Sign up for the North Yorks Ultra Challenge and help change young lives.

Why support Teenage Cancer Trust

Young person on hospital bed talking with Teenage Cancer Trust nurse

We create world class cancer services for young people in the UK, providing life-changing care and support so young people don’t have to face cancer alone.

Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 hear the words “you have cancer”. They will each need specialised nursing care and support to get them through the toughest times they may have faced.

We’re the only UK charity dedicated to meeting this vital need. By choosing to run for Teenage Cancer Trust, you can help us to reach every young person facing cancer and make a huge difference.

So you know we’re the real deal, these are our registered charity details: 1062559 (England & Wales), SC039757 (Scotland).
