Lead volunteer
Could you be the point of contact for volunteers at fundraising events?
We’re looking for volunteers with communication, organisation and decision making skills to ensure a safe smooth volunteer experience at collections, cheer points and other similar volunteering opportunities.
Deploying lead volunteers will support our aim to have Teenage Cancer Trust representation at more community-based events throughout the UK and ultimately to help us make sure young people with cancer gets the best care and support.
- When & when? This will depend on where you live and what becomes available in your area. Ideally, we’re looking for people who are willing to help out a few times a year
- Supported by: a dedicated member of our Fundraising team. Once you apply, we’ll forward your application to the right team member and they’ll be in touch to introduce themselves.
- Please note, lead volunteers will need to complete a criminal records declaration before they are deployed to their first event. The minimum age for volunteering in this capacity is 18 years old.
What will I do?
- Register, brief and coordinate volunteers on arrival the event; ensuring they understand and are equipped to carry out their roles
- Be the main point of contact for volunteers and the general public for the duration the event
- Set up event spaces, such as cheer points or collection areas
- Take responsibility for cash donations following events; banking these in accordance with our processes
