Fighting Fifth Hurdle Newcastle Racecourse bucket collection 2026
We’re looking for volunteers to bucket collect and take contactless donations at a the Fighting Fifth Hurdle Raceday at the Newcastle Racecourse on Saturday 28 November 2026.
Join our team of volunteers and raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust so we can make sure no young person has to face cancer alone.
The minimum age for this opportunity is 18 years of age.
When? Saturday 28 November
Where: Newcastle Racecourse, High Gosforth Park, Cheltenham, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE3 5HP
Timings: Your volunteering shift is 10am-5pm with breaks.
You will be given entry to the racecourse and will be able to watch the racing in between collecting shifts. Shifts to be confirmed in volunteer briefing closer to the event.

What will I do?
- Collect donations from the members of the public during the Raceday.
- Bucket and contactless collecting of donations. At the entrance to the racecourse as well as some roaming during the day.
- Help raise awareness and engage the public with our work, simply by being there in our branding
- Be a friendly and approachable face of the charity
What will I gain?
- Support at the event from a dedicated member of Teenage Cancer Trust Regional Fundraising team.
- A ticket to enter the racecourse and watch the racing in between volunteering shifts
- Ultimately help Teenage Cancer Trust to make sure every young person with cancer gets the best care and support
- A Teenage Cancer Trust volunteer t-shirt
- You can claim up to £25 per volunteer per day for travel expenses please keep your receipts. An expenses form will be sent to you in a thank you email after the event.
