TCS London Marathon 2027 volunteering
In 2027, more than 600 runners across the weekend are donning their Teenage Cancer Trust t-shirts and taking on 26.2 miles to raise funds for young people with cancer.
For the first time in history the London Marathon will take place over two days. The London Marathon will take place over the weekend of the 24th and 25th April 2027.
Could you help to celebrate and encourage Teenage Cancer Trust runners by making some noise at our cheer points along the route? Or capture the special atmosphere as a volunteer photographer.

Greet our runners at the finish line after their epic challenge and take them to our post-race venue where they can relax and rest with food, drink and a massage.
Bring your photography skills and your camera to help ensure that the Teenage Cancer Trust team gets the images to help them treasure their memories of this momentous day.
If you’re under 18, you’ll need parental permission to volunteer. After you submit this form, please ask a parent or guardian to complete our consent for young volunteers form with you. If you’re under 16, you’ll also need to be accompanied by an adult when volunteering for us. Our minimum age for volunteering is 13.
When?
Saturday 24 April and/or Sunday 25 April 2027

Depending on where along the course you’re stationed, the timings vary. We will confirm timings for cheer points, post-race and photographers in your briefing email.
What will I do?
You will cheer, support and motivate Teenage Cancer Trust runners at one of our Teenage Cancer Trust cheer points.
Or
Greet our runners at the finish line after their epic challenge and take them to our post-race venue where they can relax and rest with food, drink and a massage.
Or
Bring your photography skills and your camera to help ensure that the Teenage Cancer Trust team gets the images to help them treasure their memories of this momentous day.
- Bring your own camera equipment
- Snap and/or video Teenage Cancer Trust runners, volunteers, the crowds and race day in general, capturing the unparalleled atmosphere of the marathon
- Advise the charity on potential photography opportunities, as identified.
What will I gain?
- A first-class experience soaking up and contributing to the atmosphere of the event
- Banger sticks, a t-shirt, flags and other materials to help you to make an impact
- Support on the day as needed, from a dedicated member of staff.
Or
- A first-class experience soaking up the atmosphere at our post-race event
- Meet and greet our runners as they cross the finish line and guide them to our post-race party
- Reasonable travel expenses of £25 per volunteer per day will be reimbursed in line with our volunteer expenses policy.
What skills do I need?
- Lots of enthusiasm!
- Reliability & punctuality.
And/or
- Ideally you’ll be an experienced professional or talented amateur photographer
- The ability to build rapport with supporters and volunteers
- Creativity and initiative to take the best possible shots
- Ability to take direction where necessary from Teenage Cancer Trust staff.
