Julie Worrall
Chief Executive
“I don’t want any young person to face their cancer journey in the way I had to. That’s why I am so proud to lead this organisation, working alongside extraordinary colleagues to ensure that every young person with cancer receives the tailored care, expertise and support they deserve.”
My role
As Chief Executive, my focus is to ensure Teenage Cancer Trust delivers on its vital mission: to provide every young person with cancer the specialist care and support they need and deserve. I work closely with our Executive Team, our dedicated staff, and our partners across the UK to strengthen the charity, build strategic clarity and momentum, and ensure we remain a trusted voice for young people with cancer and their families.
Teenage Cancer Trust and me
When I was 24, I was diagnosed with late‑stage ovarian cancer — an experience that ultimately became my driving force and shaped my personal and professional purpose. It led me into the charity sector, where I’ve spent over 20 years working in roles dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by cancer, including senior leadership positions at Young Lives vs Cancer, World Child Cancer and within the NHS.
I went through treatment without the support of the specialist teams and dedicated facilities that Teenage Cancer Trust provides today — they simply didn’t exist then. I don’t want any young person to face their cancer journey in the way I had to. That’s why I am so proud to lead this organisation, working alongside extraordinary colleagues to ensure that every young person with cancer receives the tailored care, expertise and support they deserve.
