“It is a privilege to be part of Teenage Cancer Trust, working alongside colleagues, partners, volunteers, and supporters whose expertise, energy and care make a real difference every day.”
Career
My career has focused on building organisations that deliver impact: raising ambition, removing barriers, creating solutions, using resources well, and improving outcomes for the people they serve.
I am a chartered accountant by profession, qualifying with PwC after graduating from the University of Cambridge. Over the past two decades, I have held executive and non-executive leadership roles across charities, the NHS and education, working in complex, mission-driven environments.
I have served as non-executive director / trustee for the University of Bath, We The Curious (Bristol’s science centre), an academy trust in Wiltshire, and Bath Cancer Unit Support Group, where I am currently Treasurer.
Across all of these roles, my focus has been on enabling organisations — and the people within them — to deliver meaningful social change and support others to live their best possible lives.
My Role
As Chief Operating Officer, my role is to turn strategy into reality: aligning Teenage Cancer Trust’s resources, capabilities and ways of working so that we can deliver the greatest possible impact for young people with and beyond cancer.
I lead our Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT), Finance, People and Culture, Strategy and Impact, Planning and Performance, and Governance and Compliance functions, ensuring they deploy their professional expertise effectively and collaboratively to enable the charity to deliver the best possible impact for young people who we serve. As Company Secretary, I am responsible for supporting strong governance, effective decision-making and clear accountability at Board and executive level.
At its heart, my role is about creating the conditions in which our people, services, and partnerships can thrive — matching our ambition with clarity, discipline, accountability and care in how we operate.
Teenage Cancer Trust and me
I am passionate about tackling inequity and promoting opportunity and wellbeing: for young people, within systems, and within organisations.
I have also seen the impact of Teenage Cancer Trust’s work first hand: My daughter has been treated for cancer in Teenage Cancer Trust units, giving me a direct understanding of how vital specialist, age-appropriate care is for young people and their families. That perspective reinforces my role here, strengthening my commitment to ensuring that this charity is impactful, resilient, and focused on reaching every young person who needs us.
It is a privilege to be part of Teenage Cancer Trust, working alongside colleagues, partners, volunteers, and supporters whose expertise, energy and care make a real difference every day.
