The iconic instruments, Simmons’ Axe™ Bass by Cort – signed by the man himself – and Stanley’s signature series Ibanez PS 120 – signed by the entire band – are now available to bid on, along with a pair of VIP tickets to see the band close this year’s Download Festival at the historic Donington Park. All proceeds will go towards helping young people with cancer.
The successful bidders will be treated to the money-can’t-buy experience of meeting the rock gods backstage on the day of their headline slot. It is here that they will be presented with the prizes by the band.
Paul Stanley said: “Teenage Cancer Trust does a much-needed job of focusing attention and assisting teens in their struggles and battles with the devastating impact of cancer. I commend Roger and Pete for helping to fill this gap and actively support this much needed cause and ask all to participate in any way possible.”
Gene Simmons of KISS, added:
You must always give back whenever you have a chance. Always be aware that not everybody is as lucky as we are, which is why we wanted to donate these signed guitars. Do what you can, help save a life.
Siobhan Dunn, Chief Executive at Teenage Cancer Trust, said:
We’re delighted that KISS has donated these incredible guitars to us. Every penny raised will help us to support teenagers and young adults facing a diagnosis of cancer. We have come so far in our mission to help young people suffering from this devastating disease. There is, however, still much more to do and for every young person we help, there is another we can’t, which is why we are so very grateful for KISS’s contribution.
Mr Download himself, Andy Copping, said:
We had such an overwhelming response from last year’s ‘Thumbs Up for Stephen’, that we have decided to mark his anniversary again this year. It makes it even more special that our Sunday headliners KISS have shown such generosity by donating these two one-off signed guitars to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.
The auction is now live for 5 days so check out our eBay page before 3pm on Wednesday 10 June to bid on these exclusive auctions and get your hands on some rare and unique pieces of rock ‘n’ roll history all in support of Teenage Cancer Trust.
