Connect: Social network for young people with cancer
Teenage Cancer Trust Connect is a dedicated online community exclusively for young people going through, or recovering from, cancer.
You are viewing: What is Connect
Through Connect, young people with cancer can connect with a community of peers, find support, share their experiences and get professionally sourced and reliable information and advice.
Like other social media platforms, users can create a profile, post on a newsfeed and join groups and events, as well as share links that interest them and others.
We created Connect because we believe young people shouldn’t have to face cancer alone. The coronavirus pandemic has underlined the need for a safe digital space for young people with cancer, to help them overcome the isolation they sometimes feel.
As well as a website, Teenage Cancer Trust Connect is now available as a free app for use on iOS phone or tablet. A version for use on Android will also be available soon.
Connect is a safe and secure private space maintained and moderated by Teenage Cancer Trust, strictly adhering to both the charity’s and NHS safeguarding guidance.
What is Connect?
We continually evaluate our services to ensure young people with cancer receive care and support of the highest quality. We have paused Connect for the time-being so we can evaluate the platform and make sure it meets the needs of young people with cancer.
We’ll provide an update following the conclusion of this review and we will work with young people and our experts to re-define our digital services offer if needed.
