With 7 young people in the UK diagnosed with cancer every day, our partnership with Brides was particularly poignant. Receiving a cancer diagnosis could mean a young person’s hopes for a dream wedding may sadly have to be put on hold. Brides chose to support Teenage Cancer Trust to help raise vital funds and raise awareness through their audience.
The partnership kicked off with a text-to-win competition "‘I Do' For Charity", which offered readers the chance to win one of 5 amazing prizes including a luxury honeymoon worth £8,000, a gorgeous Jenny Packham wedding dress and a stylish Mulberry handbag. The big focus for the partnership was the Brides the Show event where brides-to-be visiting the show could purchase a treat from the cake-pop stand and automatically be in with a chance of winning some fantastic prizes, with 100% of profits raised donated to us. As well as raising funds for the charity Brides also raised awareness through a video, shown above. Claire's story shows her candidly speaking about her experience of being treated on a Teenage Cancer Trust unit. She is now thankfully in remission and celebrated a very special day in 2015!
