We are thrilled to be working with Academy Music Group. They fit into Teenage Cancer Trust’s ethos and age group perfectly, and we cannot thank the dedicated team at AMG and venue staff enough for their incredible support.
Funds have been raised through a variety of initiatives and events including the launch of a guest list donation scheme across every single one of their 14 O2 Academy venues across the country in London (Brixton, Islington), Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Sheffield, Oxford, West London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire and O2 ABC Glasgow. With AMG’s network of venues staging 1000s of concerts a year this fundraising initiative has been a huge success and generated over £51,000 to date and donations continue to flood in.
Dedicated events have also played a part in AMG’s fundraising strategy, with Teenage Cancer Trust benefitting from their annual Pop! The Question Christmas Quiz Special hosted at O2 Academy2 Islington, London. Individual venues have also got involved, Newcastle’s O2 Academy2 hosted a special concert featuring The Who tribute act ‘The Whodlums’ raising over £3,000 for our North East Appeal as well as supporting Rock Your Shades at Propaganda club nights nationwide and various staff fundraising across the venues.
AMG’s spokesperson said
We’re really pleased to have raised over £100,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust, their work is so important to the lives of young people, providing the best possible care. Owning live music venues all over the country, our staff see and hear the good work that takes places across all Teenage Cancer Trust units. We look forward to raising even more funds in 2014 for Teenage Cancer Trust to expand their work into new locations this year.
