My role

I provide psychosocial support in the form of activities, events or outings for young people both on and off the unit. Even when young people have difficult days I’m still inspired by their resilience and energy.

One of my favourite parts of the job is seeing a group of young people really engage in an activity and for them to feed-back the therapeutic benefits.

Why Teenage Cancer Trust matters

Teenage Cancer Trust is fundamental in providing a "home away from home", where young people can be treated as people first and cancer patients second. This makes a huge difference to the young people who are being admitted to hospital.

They also provide a therapeutic space where peer socialisation can take place and people can share experiences of their cancer journey.
